Numbness and Tingling

We’ve all had the feeling of our arms or legs “going to sleep” after sleeping wrong. But, feeling tingling or numbness, a sensation similar to “pins and needles”, are also symptoms of what could be serious health concerns. So it is important to get it looked at as soon as possible by medical professionals. Doctors of Chiropractic (DCs) are experts in the musculoskeletal system including the function of nerves. So, it makes sense to see a chiropractor with nerve-related issues. Pinched nerves or just one of the issues with spinal misalignment. They can block communication between the brain and your organs and hinder sufficient blood flow.

What causes numbness and tingling?

There are a number of things that could be causing the sensation and while some of them are not an emergency, others can be. So it’s always been to find the cause of your numbness or/and tingling, commonly in your extremities.

Some serious causes could be a seizure disorder, diabetes, stroke, or multiple sclerosis.  But it is more common that these feelings are from something less serious. Causes like carpal tunnel syndrome or migraines. Often a pinched nerve is the ultimate cause of these symptoms because restricted blood flow can make you experience an uncomfortable tingling or numb sensation in your arms, legs, hands, toes, or fingers.
