Vertigo is a symptom, very similar to the lesser “dizziness” that is a sensation of you or your environment around you spinning or moving without your control. Sometimes the feeling can be rather mild and almost unnoticeable, but it may also be extremely several causing issues with your balance and accomplishing basic, daily activities and tasks.
Both being dizzy and having vertigo are problems with balance but the two are different in the details. With vertigo, you get the sensation that you or your surroundings are moving. With general dizziness, you have a feeling of being unable to catch your balance.
Common causes of Vertigo
What are the different types of Vertigo?
There are two major forms of vertigo:
- PERIPHERAL VERTIGO – which is commonly associated with problems within the inner ear.
- CENTRAL VERTIGO – which normally occurs when there’s an issue with the brain itself. It is often coupled with tumors, traumatic injuries, stroke, or infection.
Balance Issue Treatment
There are many treatment aspects that we use at Magnolia Comfort Medical to treat, heal, and prevent balance issues within the body including an unsteady gait and vertigo. And they are all dependent on the cause of the balance issue being it muscle weakness, alcohol abuse, infections, neuromas, bad posture, Lymes disease, head/brain tumors, side-effects of prescription drug medications, multiple sclerosis, muscle weakness, poor posture, aging, head trauma, or more. Once the doctor can identify the cause of our body losing its balance, he will set a treatment plan to correct it specifically.
